John Michael Crichton , well known as Michael Crichton, was an American writer, producer, director, and screenwriter, well known for his work in the science fiction, medical fiction, and thriller genres. His works have sold over 150 million copies worldwide, and many have been adapted into movies. In 1994, Crichton became the only creative artist ever to have books simultaneously charting at #1 in TV, movie, and book sales.
