Thomas Rockwell

Thomas Rockwell photosThomas Rhodes Rockwell is the writer of a number of works for young readers. He was the recipient of the Mark Twain Prize, the California Young Reader Medal, and the Sequoyah Book Prize for How to Eat Fried Worms, which was made into a Tv film in 1985 and was filmed as a theatrical release in 2006. He lives in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Rockwell grew up in Arlington, Vermont. His early mentors were Jim and Clara Edgarton, local farmers, on whose farm he worked gathering hay. Rockwell briefly attended Princeton High school and finished Bard College in 1956.
